Latest Happenings

We have been soooo busy lately harvesting and canning, etc. but we have had time to do some fun things too. These pictures are not in order!

While canning tomatoes at my mom's house, we got a visit from my grandma Workman!
A few weeks ago we watched David's sister Liz's kids while they were at Lake Powell for a week. The Roberts are good kids and we had a great time. Sidney stayed home from school one day due to a soccer injury and that day was the Walk-a-thon so the 3 of us hung out, went to Pineview and threw rocks, etc.
One of the days we watched the Roberts David had the morning free so we hooked up our new/used bike trailer and took it for a spin. We ended up at the beach and we stripped Olivia down to a diaper and then she took that off and ended up naked. Then to our dismay, she went #2 on the beach. David, thinking she was done and not wanting her to step in it, moved her and she went again right on his foot! He was pretty grossed out.

Grandma came over the day of her anniversary so we made her this sign.

Canning peaches with Grandma. Olivia was a big helper

Olivia went bowling for the first time at her cousin Barrett's birthday party.

Tonight we had a "girl's night" at the Junction while the boys were at the Priesthood session of conference. We had pizza, watched the Flowrider and I-fly. She was fascinated and loved it.

Loving the cardboard castle her Aunt Annie made for her. This thing was awesome, it was totally decked out with all the accessories.

Licking the rope... weird

We've had a few trips to the cabin. This is at Stewart's falls.

Olivia wanted to walk down the trail so we let her. She was having so much fun that she started running and screaming with delight and then...

But she got right back up!

Enjoying a bath at the Roberts.

One Crazy Week

So I'll get to the crazy week we had but first we'll start with the activities leading up to that week.

Olivia has totally been into kissing. She'll kiss anyone we ask her to on the lips (her parents' fault of course), she'll blow kisses to complete strangers in the grocery store, in their cars, anywhere. It's so cute and I love that she's so friendly but it could get her in trouble someday. In this picture, ironically, she is avoiding a kiss from her cousin Sadie.
The rodeo, of course, was wonderful. We were lucky to have Michelle and Uncle Marl join us, the regulars (us and my family).
The Pioneer Day parade was awesome also. We walked along the river for a minute. I love Ogden!

This is a rare photo. Olivia and Uncle Chad. She loves Uncle Chad because he gives her candy...or whatever she wants for that matter. But that's what uncles are for, right?

Kissing cousins! Gross! This is cute little Burke Chandler and they are only a month apart.

The Chandlers and Michelle came over for a BBQ

Also, Olivia has been into dressing up lately... and posing! Look at that face!

A nakey princess! What is this?!

Now here's the story of our crazy week. It started with us arriving at Bear Lake in the evening. The water was too cold to jump in so here's Elle, Annie and Olivia cooling off their feet.
The next day... still too cold!

Is there no limit to who she'll kiss?

Olivia's first boat ride. Needless to say she loved it.

Bear Lake pizza. Eric, David, Me, Olivia, Nakita (my cousin) and Ivan.

I love this picture!

Unhappy about something...

Canoeing with Katie...

Totally pooped! Three days at Bear Lake is tiring for a little kid... and her parents. But wait, the fun wasn't over yet!

So we got home from Bear Lake on Wednesday then woke up Thursday, picked up a trailer and a vehicle to pull it, and headed to Michael and Annie's house to load all their belongings and move them to Arizona. We left Thursday evening around 5, drove through the night, and arrived in Tempe at around 8 in the morning. We had a scary experience. I, being the expert trailer driver that I am (NOT!), offered to drive at about 3:30 in the morning to give David and his dad a break. That was my first time experiencing what they call "speed wobble", I overcorrected and the result was me swerving around on a 2-lane highway going 60 mph. Scary! Thanks to my husband's quick action and advice and definitely some divine protection, we avoided an accident. And if there was any question, I was not allowed to drive the trailer anymore.

So we got to AZ safely, ate breakfast, unloaded the trailer at Michael and Annie's new apartment, took short naps, picked up more stuff to haul home from a storage unit, and began our journey back. By that time it was Friday evening. So we drove through the night again and arrived home Saturday morning. We unloaded the trailer, put it away, and drove 3 hours to a McKay reunion in Idaho, arriving just in time to have the dinner leftovers.

The reunion was near Swan Valley, Idaho. I can't describe how badly David and I want to live in that beautiful place. We had never been there before but we are convinced we are going to have at least a summer home or something there. It is so pretty! Right along the Snake River, and just the right amount of people for our liking.

The reunion of course was a lot of fun. Then on Monday, we finally headed home but on our way we stopped at Rigby Lake (awesome place)!

Who wouldn't want a kiss from this cute guy?

David's cousins showing off their stuff. Who's the best looking? My vote is Burke by far. He's working that ice-cream cone.

This picture is worth a thousand words. I'll just leave it at that.

So... after one crazy week we finally came home and things settled down. Now we're just enjoying what summer we have left.

Happy summer!

More Summer!

One day it rained and Aunt Katie stopped by. Olivia's trying to eat the raindrops on the window screen.

We had a lovely little camping excursion up Middlefork canyon to celebrate David's sister, Annie's, birthday. Annie, Sadie, Michael, Olivia, me
Playing in the tent was probably the most fun part of the trip for Olivia.

Then we headed to the Stevensons for the McKay reunion.

This is a cool little toddler roller coaster. It's awesome!

My sisters came over and we went to this cool splash pad in South Ogden.

Last week Olivia slipped in the tub and chipped her front teeth. So now instead of this...

Her smile looks like this...
You probably can't tell the difference but her teeth are a lot smaller and I think they are still a little tender, poor thing.

Yesterday we went to Huntsville again to swim.

But we helped mow the lawn first
